SCVMM 2012 R2 Install Failure with Remote clustered SQL 2012 SP1 DB

Hi Everyone,

I am trying a fresh install of SCVMM 2012 R2 on Windows 2012 R2 OS. The Database server OS is a clustered 2008 R2 running SQL 2012 SP1.

When I run the install it is failing right after displaying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Shared Managed Objects (x64) then doing a rollback.

I have 3 service accounts, vmmservice,vmmadmin,sql_vmmadmin. All three of these are in the admin group on the VMM box and the both SQL cluster boxes.

I also added the sql_vmmadmin and vmmservice domain accounts to sql logins as sys admin.

No error message is displayed, it just fails and rollsback everything and says to see logs.

I looked in the VMM logs and can't find any errors, I see the line that says Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Shared Management Objects (x64) installation successful.

Any help appreciated.
