SCVMM 2016 Virtual Machine Manager 1602

Hi Folks,

I've built an scvmm 2016 ENV.

The configuration is

1. SQL Server 2016 on "always on high availability group" and windows failover cluster.

2. SCVMM 2016 Management server Clustered nodes and windows failover cluster.

I was successfully able to connect to DB but now when trying to log in to the VMM console i'm getting an error. Getting error both primary and secondary.

Troubleshooting steps performed.

1. checked DB permissions on the SQL server - intact

2. sql and scvmm service accounts on both SCVMM hosts and sql hosts and DB's - Fine.

3. I see the VMM cluster role is down although the IP, DNS host name is pingable i'm unable to bring the role up and running in failover cluster manager. ( VMM service role). Run a validation report status reports failed generic service( the VMM cluster name)

The role never comes up errors are similar to "group transistioned from pending to failed"

4. tried to restart the service "system center virtual machine manager " manually in services.msc but it doesn't start. It's set as manual and never does start.

5. checked VMM logs but see lot of errors logs which is something like this

Did read lots of blogs which stated to change rows in sql which was also executed successfully but still unable to restart the VMM service.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/3020448/error-id-1602-occurs-and-the-microsoft-system-center-2012-virtual-mach

7. The event viewer also clearly suggesting "failover clustering resource error" which again points to the below files.

8. verified the firewall ports 1433 from both SCVMM cluster servers to SQL server via telnet

9. No errors were reported while installing the SCVMM console on both primary and sec SCVMM nodes.

10. The DB's were clearly selected for this automatically from console.

Not sure whether should i rebuild the entire thing from scrapping the whole scvmm, re-install OS, build failover cluster and then install scvmm and then select new DB creation but still feel i've done the setup properly.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/3020448/error-id-1602-occurs-and-the-microsoft-system-center-2012-virtual-mach

ANY SCVMM folks, need some assistance badly or will go ahead with the new build but feel someone should be able to guide me though. Hoping for the best !!
