I've just installed a bran new VMM 2012 SP1 Server. This is my first VMM Server, and therefore, I have very limited knowledge and experience with it. I've added my existing Hyper-V Cluster to VMM. My Hyper-V Cluster is a 4 node cluster running Windows Server 2012. My VMs are stored on a "Scale-out File Server Cluster" using SMB 3.0, on Windows Server 2012 (\\SOFS\Share).
I've also added the SMB share to my VMM's cluster properties.
The majority of my VMs have a status or "Running". However, if I do a "Refresh" on a VM, the status will change to "Unsupported Cluster Configuration" Then, if I view the Status of the VM, I see the following error message:
Error (13924)
The highly available virtual machine (VMNAME) is not supported by VMM because the virtual machine uses non-clustered storage.
Recommended Action
Ensure that all of the files and pass-through disks belonging to the virtual machine reside on highly available storage.
Once the VM is in this state, I can no longer do any Migrations from VMM. I can still do Live Migrations from the Failover Cluster Manager console, but not from VMM. Does anyone have any suggestions?
